COVID-19 School Plans and Info

Dear Students and Parents,

I’d like to provide you with an update on our COVID guidelines and what to expect at school the next couple of weeks:

1. We will do our best to keep the Academy open the next couple of weeks. We think it is critically important that students are able to be in school as much as possible. Due to the large number of COVID cases in our area and an increase at school we will also be Zooming all our classes this week and next. Links to the Zoom meetings can be found on your child’s Google Classroom. Schedules for students will follow their normal daily routines. Feel free to reach out to teachers if you have questions about their schedule.

2. The school kitchen will be closed tomorrow, 1/9, please send students with a lunch.

3. Students/staff who test positive for COVID are now able to return to school after 5 days IF they had have no symptoms, or symptoms are resolving and they have had no fever for 72 hours. Anyone returning after these 5 days should be diligent about wearing their mask.

4. Students/staff who are exposed to COVID should use the following guidelines:

a. If fully vaccinated and asymptomatic no quarantine necessary.

b. If not fully vaccinated quarantine for 5 days since exposure and return to school on the 6th day; OR remain in school, but test on days 1, 3, and 5 from exposure. Rapid tests are allowable tests. Soon the school will have a number of at home tests that it can share with families. More information on that to come.

I’ve also attached a flow chart belowI hope helps you to understand what to do in situations you face.

Please remember to keep the school nurses informed of your sick children, test results, etc. It helps us stay organized and on top of things.

Blessings,

Bro. Isaiah
